Conditions We Assess and Support in New Cairo
Children rarely arrive with a label. Start from what you are noticing at home, at nursery or at school — our team works out what sits behind it, and what actually helps.

What Are You Noticing?
Most parents come to us with a description, not a diagnosis. Pick whichever phrase is closest to what you see — it will take you to the area we would usually look at first. You do not have to be right, and choosing one does not commit you to anything.
Nothing here sounds quite right? That is common, and it is fine. Describe it to us in your own words and our patient care team will suggest where to start.
Eleven Areas We Assess and Support
These are the areas families most often bring to us. Many children show more than one, and that is expected — the assessment is what tells us which one is driving the others.
Autism Spectrum (ASD)
Communication, social interaction, sensory regulation and everyday participation.
→02ADHD & Attention
Attention, activity level, impulse control, routines and school participation.
→03Speech & Language Delay
Late talking, unclear speech, understanding and expressive language.
→04Learning Difficulties
Reading, writing, spelling and number skills that lag behind despite effort.
→05Developmental Delay
Milestones arriving later than expected across one or more areas of development.
→06Behavioural & Emotional Concerns
Meltdowns, aggression, defiance and difficulty coping with change.
→07Sensory Processing
Over- or under-reacting to sound, touch, movement, light, taste and texture.
→08Social Communication
Starting and keeping conversations, friendships and play with other children.
→09Feeding & Swallowing Difficulties
Selective eating, texture refusal, gagging and distress at mealtimes.
→10Anxiety & Emotional Regulation
Worry, separation difficulty, low confidence and large emotional swings.
→11Executive Function
Planning, organising, holding instructions in mind and finishing what was started.
→When the Picture Isn’t Only Developmental
Sometimes what looks purely behavioural has a physical component underneath it. Our functional medicine team reviews the whole child — history, growth, nutrition, sleep, digestion and laboratory findings where they are indicated — alongside the developmental assessment, not instead of it.
Nutrition & digestion
Appetite, digestive symptoms, growth and diet quality reviewed as part of the wider picture.
Therapeutic nutrition →Sleep, energy & regulation
Poor sleep and low energy affect attention, mood and learning long before anyone calls it behaviour.
Functional medicine →Feeding & mealtimes
Selective eating and swallowing difficulty are assessed medically and therapeutically together.
Feeding therapy →Laboratory findings
Tests are requested only where a clinical question needs answering, and the results are explained to you.
Functional blood tests →From What You Notice to a Plan You Can Use
You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis, a referral, or the right vocabulary. You need one appointment and an honest conversation.
What you notice
The concern in your own words, plus your child’s history, school or nursery feedback, and any previous reports or tests. We collect this before the visit so the consultation does not start from zero.
What we assess
A dual-track look: developmental and behavioural, and medical or functional where it is relevant. Standardised measures are used when a clearer profile is needed — not automatically, and not to fill a package.
What you receive
A written, stamped plan: the findings in plain language, the goals, which departments are involved, how often, and how progress will be reviewed. In English by default, in Arabic on request.
What We Will Not Do
A clinic that is honest about its limits is easier to trust than one that promises everything. So, plainly:
- We will not give a diagnosis over the phone, over WhatsApp or online without a proper in-clinic assessment.
- We will not promise a cure, a recovery percentage or a fixed number of sessions.
- We will not start therapy before an assessment, or sell a package your child does not need.
- We will not hide the findings. If something is outside our scope, we will tell you and say where to go.
- We will not use your child’s photographs or progress for marketing without your written consent.
- We will not tell you a difficulty has disappeared when what has changed is how well your child copes with it.
Named Clinicians, Not an Anonymous Team
Every assessment at Spectra Cure Clinics Egypt is led by a named consultant, supported by department heads in ABA, occupational therapy, speech and language, drama therapy and RDI, adapted physical education, executive function and special education. You can read their backgrounds before you book.
Meet the team →Important: the information on this website is educational. It does not replace an individual medical or developmental assessment, and it is not a diagnosis. What we recommend depends on each child’s clinical needs, and is decided with the family after the assessment.
Questions Parents Ask Us First
The eight questions we hear most from families in New Cairo, answered directly.
My child shows more than one of these. Where do we start?
That is the normal picture, not the exception. Attention, speech, sensory and behaviour difficulties overlap constantly. Start with one consultation and let the assessment establish which area is driving the others, so the plan targets the cause rather than every symptom at once.
Do we need a diagnosis before booking?
No. Most families book because something feels off, not because they have a diagnosis. Bring the concern in your own words. If a formal diagnosis is appropriate, the assessment is how we get there.
What ages do you assess?
Our core focus is children from around two to twelve years. We also see infants for early developmental and newborn follow-up, and teenagers. Some functional medicine and psychology services are available to adults, so parents can be seen too.
How long does an assessment take, and what do we get at the end?
The first consultation typically runs from thirty minutes to an hour depending on the track, and further standardised assessment is scheduled separately when it is needed. You leave with a written, stamped plan setting out the findings, the goals, the departments involved and how progress will be reviewed.
Do you assess in Arabic or English?
Both. Consultations, therapy sessions and parent training are delivered in Arabic or English, and bilingual speech and language therapy is available. Reports are issued in English by default and in Arabic on request.
Can my child’s school or nursery be involved?
Yes, with your consent. School and nursery observations are genuinely useful, and the plan is written so that teachers can apply the relevant parts. We also run school readiness and academic support programmes.
What if the assessment shows nothing is wrong?
Then we tell you that, and you leave with the reassurance and a note of what to watch for. A clear "no concern at this stage" is a legitimate and useful outcome, and we will not invent a service to justify the visit.
Where are you and when are you open?
Spectra Cure Clinics Egypt is in New Cairo — 2nd Floor, Building B, Saga Boulevard Complex, Mohamed Naguib Axis, New Cairo 3 (Fifth Settlement), entrance from the parking area. We are open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM, including Friday. Families reach us from Tagamoa, Rehab, Madinaty, Heliopolis, Nasr City, Maadi, Sheikh Zayed and 6th of October.
Still Not Sure What You Are Looking At?
That is exactly the point of the first appointment. Tell us what you are noticing and we will help you choose the right place to start — no pre-set package, no pressure.
