Trikombin bioresonance in New Cairo — and what it cannot do
Trikombin is a bioresonance device that runs three low-intensity electromagnetic programmes in one session. Spectra offers it as an optional, complementary session inside a plan a doctor is already running. It is not a treatment, it is not a test, and this page is written so you can decide against it as easily as for it.
The short version
- Is it a treatment?
- No. It treats no condition and replaces no prescribed medicine.
- Is it a test?
- No. It diagnoses nothing and measures nothing about your body.
- Is the evidence strong?
- No. Bioresonance sits at the bottom of the evidence ladder. We say so on this page rather than in the small print.
- Then why offer it?
- Because some people under an active medical plan want a non-invasive, low-intensity session alongside it, and most find the session itself calming. That is the whole claim.
Five questions, answered before you read anything else
Every one of these is answered "no" or "we do not know". If any of them is the reason you were thinking of booking, this is the wrong page for you and we would rather you found that out now.
Will it treat an infection?
No. Not Lyme, not a virus, not a parasite, not a bacterial infection. If an infection is suspected it needs proper medical investigation, and delaying that is the one genuine risk attached to this device.
Will it detoxify me or remove heavy metals?
No. Nothing about the session removes anything from the body. If heavy-metal exposure is a real concern it is a laboratory question, and we would send you to the laboratory.
Will it tell me what is wrong?
No. The reading taken before a session is a device setting, not a finding. It is not a diagnosis and it is not written into your file as one.
Will it cure or fix anything?
No. We do not promise a result, a number of sessions or a timeline, because there is no reliable basis on which to promise any of them.
So what does it actually do?
It delivers a low-intensity electromagnetic signal through skin electrodes, and most people find lying still for it calming. The consistent, honest, unexciting answer is: it is a comfortable session, offered alongside care that is doing the actual work.
What the device is, and where its reach ends
A bioresonance device passes a low-intensity electromagnetic signal through electrodes placed on the skin. Trikombin differs from a standard bioresonance unit in one respect only: it runs three programmes at the same time rather than one after another. That is a difference in how the machine is configured. It is not a difference in what the machine can do, and it does not make the underlying approach any better supported.
The reading the practitioner takes before a session is often described elsewhere as a scan, which is where most of the confusion starts. It sets the device. It does not read your body. Nothing in that reading identifies an infection, a toxin, a deficiency, an allergy or an organ problem, and nothing from it is used as a clinical finding.
If a device could really do those six things
- A device that could detect infection would replace blood cultures.
- A device that could measure vitamin levels would replace the laboratory.
- A device that could diagnose would replace the consultation.
- None of that is true of this one, or of any bioresonance unit sold anywhere.
Six claims you will read online, and what we say instead
Search the word bioresonance and you will meet all six of these within a page or two, usually stated as fact and usually by someone selling a session. We have put them here rather than hoping you do not find them, because the honest version is not embarrassing — it is just smaller.
None of these claims comes from us, and none of them will be made to you by anyone at Spectra. If a member of staff ever does make one, tell the clinician managing your care, because it is against how we have decided to offer this device.
Where the evidence sits, stated plainly
Medicine ranks evidence. At the bottom sit personal stories; above them case reports; above those small studies without a control group; above those randomised controlled trials; and at the top, systematic reviews that pool the trials together. The higher a claim is supported, the more confidently anyone can act on it.
Bioresonance sits at the bottom two levels. There are testimonials and small uncontrolled studies. There is no body of randomised evidence showing it treats any condition, and the reviews that exist do not support the diagnostic claims made for it.
Limited evidence is not the same as evidence of harm, and it is not the same as "it does nothing for anybody". It means the trials that would settle the question have not been done well enough or often enough. We say exactly the same thing on our drama therapy and RDI page about services we run ourselves — publishing where our own offerings sit is the only version of this we are willing to do.
The one word that causes most of the confusion
Almost every claim made for bioresonance leans on the word energy, and it leans on the word doing two jobs at once. In physics, energy is a measurable quantity with a unit — it is the thing a device can genuinely emit and a meter can genuinely read. In ordinary speech, energy is how you feel: tired, flat, drained, better than last week.
A device that emits the first cannot measure or correct the second. Once that is separated out, most of what is sold as "rebalancing your energy" simply has nothing left to mean. It is a good sentence to keep in your pocket for any device you are offered anywhere, not only this one.
What a session actually involves
You sit or lie down in a treatment room. A practitioner places electrodes on the skin, takes the device reading that sets the programmes, and runs the three channels. You stay dressed. Nothing is injected, nothing is swallowed and nothing breaks the skin. Most people describe the session as comfortable and quiet, and a few report mild tiredness or a headache afterwards.
Afterwards, the practitioner asks how you found it. That answer — how the session felt to you — is the only output. It is recorded as a subjective report and reviewed by the clinician managing your care, not treated as a measurement.

Before you come
- Come normally hydrated and having eaten as you usually would. We do not set water quantities or fasting rules for this.
- You will be asked to remove metal jewellery before the electrodes go on.
- Bring the medicines your child or you are currently taking, and keep taking them.
- The clinic confirms the appointment length when it books you in. We have deliberately removed the session times that used to be on this page, because they contradicted each other and none of them had been verified.
When we would not run a session
Because the device produces an electromagnetic output, some situations are checked before anything is switched on. Where any of these applies we do not proceed on our own judgement — the treating doctor has to agree first, and in most of these cases the answer is simply no.
- An implanted electronic device — pacemaker, implantable defibrillator, cochlear implant, programmable shunt or neurostimulator
- Pregnancy
- A seizure disorder that is active or not yet controlled
- Fever or an acute illness on the day
- Broken, inflamed or infected skin where electrodes would sit
- A new, unexplained or worsening symptom that has not been investigated yet

Nothing on this page is urgent care
A child who is struggling to breathe, will not wake properly, is having a seizure, has a rash that does not fade under pressure, or has stopped drinking needs emergency care, not an appointment. The Egyptian ambulance number is 123.
The only real risk we can identify — and it is not the device
A low-intensity session on intact skin, in a supervised room, with a clinician reviewing it, is unlikely to hurt anyone. The risk attached to bioresonance almost never lives in the session. It lives in what the session is allowed to replace.
A family who books six of these instead of the hearing test, the blood work, or the developmental assessment loses months — and in the first years of a child's life, months are the resource that does not come back. That is the harm, and it is entirely avoidable: keep the medical pathway running and let this sit beside it.
So we would rather you booked the assessment and skipped this, than booked this and postponed the assessment. If money or time is limited, that is not a difficult decision, and we will say so out loud when you ask us.
What we will not do
- We will not tell you a number of sessions in advance.
- We will not present the pre-session reading as a diagnosis, or write it into a report as one.
- We will not recommend this instead of an assessment, a laboratory test or a referral.
- We will not sell it to someone who tells us they are hoping it treats a diagnosed condition — we will explain why it will not, and offer what might.
- We will not describe it as therapy, healing or detox, on this page or in the room.
Who decides whether this is offered at all
Trikombin is never booked on its own initiative. The decision sits with the clinician running your medical plan, and the clinic's device work is supervised by a paediatric consultant rather than by whoever operates the machine.

Questions families actually ask
Is Trikombin safe?
It is non-invasive and low-intensity, and is generally well tolerated. Some people report mild tiredness or a headache afterwards. It is not run at all where one of the checks in the section above applies.
The important safety point is not about the device. It is that a session must never stand in for medicine that has been prescribed, or for an investigation that has been recommended.
Is it suitable for children?
Spectra Egypt is largely a children's clinic, and a child would only ever be offered this as an optional extra to a plan that is already running, with the parent and the treating clinician both agreeing. It would never be the answer to a developmental concern, a speech delay or a behavioural difficulty — those have assessments and therapies with real evidence behind them, and that is where a child's time should go.
How is Trikombin different from ordinary bioresonance?
It runs three low-intensity programmes at once instead of one at a time. That is the entire difference. It does not make the approach more effective and the evidence base is identical either way. If anyone tells you the triple configuration is what makes it work, they are describing a feature, not a finding.
How many sessions will I need?
We do not answer this in advance and we would be suspicious of anyone who did. Sessions are reviewed with the clinician managing your care as you go, and stopping is a normal outcome rather than a failure.
What does the reading before the session show me?
Nothing about your health. It configures the device. We will not hand you a printout of it as though it were a result, and it does not appear in your file as a finding.
Can it be combined with other things I am doing at Spectra?
It may sit alongside photobiomodulation or a functional medicine plan where the clinician thinks it appropriate. It is always the supporting part of a plan and never the main one. If it ever looks like it is becoming the main one, that is a signal that something has gone wrong with the plan.
Will I get a report?
You will get a note in your record of how you found the session. You will not get a report of what the device "found", because it does not find anything.
Why does the clinic offer it at all, if the evidence is weak?
Because a low-intensity, non-invasive session with a calming effect is something some people under active care want, and we would rather offer it with the limits stated in public than pretend it is something bigger. If you read this page and conclude it is not worth your time, that is a completely reasonable reading of it.
What should I book instead if I am not sure?
A functional medicine consultation, or a specialised assessment if the concern is developmental. Both of those produce something you can act on. This does not, and it is not designed to.
What to do next
If you came here looking for an answer to a symptom, one of these is a better use of your appointment.
Book the consultation, not the session
