What a video visit can and cannot do
We would rather you know this before you book than discover it in the appointment. A screen is genuinely good at some things and genuinely poor at others.
Works well online
- Taking a full history — pregnancy, milestones, illnesses, medicines and supplements
- Reading reports, laboratory results and imaging you send in advance
- Discussing feeding, sleep, digestion, routine and what you are seeing at home
- Explaining a diagnosis or a plan a family has already been given elsewhere
- Reviewing results and adjusting an existing plan between in-clinic visits
- Deciding, together, whether an in-person appointment is actually needed
Needs the clinic
- Physical examination, growth measurement and anything requiring hands on the child
- On-site technologies — Physiospect, Qest-4, Equilios, Trikombin, PBM, HRV, OligoScan
- Blood draws and any sample collection
- Structured therapy sessions — ABA, speech, occupational, feeding and sensory work
- Formal developmental and psychometric assessment, which needs a room and materials
- Anything urgent. A video call is never the right route for acute illness or deterioration
From request to written plan

Send your request
Use the booking form or message the clinic on WhatsApp. Say who the appointment is for, their age, and the main concern in a sentence or two. The care team replies within about 15 minutes during clinic hours.
Triage and scheduling
The team confirms an online consultation is the right first step — sometimes it is not, and we will say so — then books the appropriate clinician and sends you the joining link and a short intake form.
Send your file in advance
Previous reports, laboratory and imaging results, a list of current medicines and supplements with doses, and growth records. Sending them ahead is what makes the appointment worth having; a clinician reading paperwork live is time you have paid for.
The consultation, then the plan
You join from a browser on any device. Afterwards you receive a written summary with next steps, anything that needs an in-clinic visit, and a review date. The care team confirms the turnaround when you book.
Where it makes the most sense
Online consultations are not a discounted version of a clinic visit. They exist because for some families the journey is the barrier, and for others the visit simply is not needed yet.

Spectra Cure Clinic Egypt is licensed and regulated in Egypt. An online consultation with us is a medical opinion delivered from Egypt — it does not replace, and cannot substitute for, a doctor licensed where you live.
For families abroad that usually means we are most useful for reviewing a file, explaining findings, giving a second opinion and planning what to do on your next visit to Egypt. Prescriptions, local investigations and ongoing treatment need your local physician, and we will tell you plainly when something has to be handled there rather than here.

Questions families ask
What do I need to join?
A device with a camera and microphone — phone, tablet or laptop — and a connection steady enough for video. The call opens from a link the clinic sends you. If the connection drops, the team will reschedule or continue by phone rather than rush the appointment.
Is it in Arabic or English?
Whichever you prefer. Tell the care team when you book and they will match you with a clinician accordingly.
How long does it take?
It depends on the type of appointment and how much history there is to work through — a first consultation runs longer than a follow-up. The care team confirms the booked length when they schedule you, so you are not guessing.
Can my child be diagnosed on a video call?
Some things can be assessed remotely and some genuinely cannot. Formal developmental and psychometric assessment needs a room, materials and an in-person examination. A video consultation can review what you already have, form a clinical impression and tell you exactly which assessment is worth booking — it does not replace one.
Will I get a prescription?
Prescribing is a clinical decision and is not automatic in either direction. If you are outside Egypt, medication and local investigations need a doctor licensed where you live; we will set out the reasoning so your own physician has what they need.
What do I send before the appointment?
Previous medical reports, any laboratory or imaging results, a written list of current medicines and supplements with doses, growth records if you have them, and a short note of what you are noticing at home and at school. Send them when you book, not on the day.
Can both parents join from different places?
Yes. Send the clinic both contacts when you book and the link can be shared. It is often the most useful version of the appointment when parents are in different cities or countries.
Is my information private?
The consultation is treated exactly like an in-clinic appointment and the notes go into the same medical record. Please join from somewhere you are comfortable speaking freely, and do not record the session without telling the clinician.
What if you decide we need to come in?
We will say so, and say why. Where possible the team groups everything a visit needs — consultation, assessment, any on-site technology — into one trip to New Cairo instead of several.
What about an emergency?
Do not book an online appointment. Acute illness, breathing difficulty, seizures, severe dehydration, injury or rapid deterioration need urgent local care — call 123 in Egypt, or your local emergency number, and go to the nearest emergency department.
